Magic Moments...

Our fabulous seamstress Erin pins a dress to fit this darling almost 10 year old who got this dress to wear to her upcoming birthday party.
The good ones go so fast! This 60's melon pleated stunner sold right away and is going to be worn  by an actress on opening night of a play in New York!

This 1960's lipstick pinkish red is still available and has a 28"waist.

I spent a good deal of time this week in the Vintage Bridal Salon. If you haven't been up there you are really missing out. It's a little like being in an atelier in Paris, all pink and gold with gilded furniture. Erin works there mending and altering dresses and is always up for making Earl Grey tea and sharing her gluten free cookies.  We listen to the ipod that has everything from R.Kelly to Frederic Chopin.  Thursday evening the light was spectacular up there and I had some time to photograph some of my favorite wedding dresses....

I am a vintage Priscilla of Boston fanatic. The wedding gowns they made back then were expensive. The materials and craftsmanship was top-notch. The gown above is a classic peau de soie and lace Priscilla of Boston. I love how simple yet dramatic it is...Waist is a 26".

I am loving our new logo and price tags, these were designed for the bridal salon. The dress is a 1950's Cotillion original and has a 24" waist.

This unworn 1960's peau de soie gown features a stunning lace jacket that forms a train. I love that the jacket can be taken off to reveal a really elegant, simple silk column gown.

The piece above is a most unusual wedding cape from the 1960's and apparently unworn. Imagine this worn over a simple ivory gown. The front features tiny seed pearls and applique flowers.
I love the way the light filters through...it would be breathtaking during a sunset ceremony.
